For the 1 pm Grebe MU1 with its bead chain tuning, four 201A
tubes, and one 112 tube, here are some helpful hints on
fixing (I'll send Marty the schematic):
This MU-1 is the late version, only the model 55
Synchrophase is later.
The large by-pass capacitors were originally 0.5mfd (check
for shorts) The gridleak should be about 3meg ohms - the
associated capacitor will be fine if clean and dry. The
connections on the audio transformers should not be twisted
or moved as the thin connecting wires may be corroded. These
wires are just clamped by the riveted shell of the
transformers. Of course, both primaries and secondaries
should be OK for continuity, and range from a few hundred to
about 2 thousand ohms DC measurement.
The lamp at rear is used as a fuse (6v OK) and the dial lamp
is a 6V torch bulb.
