Steve,
You may want to try George Fathauer at:
_http://www.users.qwest.net/~tubes/_ (http://www.users.qwest.net/~tubes/)

Even though he specializes in receiver and audiophile tubes, he
occasionally comes across transmitting triodes that he sells at reasonable
prices. Let him know your needs and he'll contact you if he comes across anything.

I've dealt with him many times in the past and he's always provided great
service. Sorry if this sounds like an advertisement, I have no personal "stake"
in his business; just impressed that he's always sold me good products and
never "raked me over the coals" so to speak.

Inquiring minds want to know: What plans do you have with an 852 triode? The
sidearm toobs (852/FP-195,860,861) are among my favorite bottles, and make
for great looking breadboarded transmitters! The General Electric FP-195 is
basically identical to the 852, but with a graphite anode.

One note of caution with any of the above: They have a strong tendency to
develop air leaks around the seal of the sidearm, where the leads connect to the
 plate.

Best Regards,
                     Joe Cro N3IBX
