Al - Email me offlist at: n3ibx at verizon.net. Together we'll figure out what 
the problem is. Just out of curiosity, are you using a crystal or VFO 
frequency control? If xtal, perhaps it has low activity causing low grid 
drive, etc. Just a guess. If you want to "play with it", I have the Gonset 
accessory speech amp/VFO for 2 Metros.
