this new science/history learning center.
Hello All,
This past Saturday's work day went very well. We had represenatives
from OMARC, NJARC, Garden State Central, and NJHDA. The results can be
seen from the street. The old Marconi Power station (9006) is no longer
hidden in weeds and a large section of the security fence has the vines
removed. We have a large pile of branches and vines waiting for
removal. Plus we got started painting inside the library (9032). While
we were working at the main area a Boy Scout (Josh) and his dad (Ken)
put a new roof on the relocated guard hut at the Diana site. The
shingles were supplied by the Wall Kiwanis Club.
Thank you Dan, Terry, Harry, Russ, Dave G., Dave S., Phil, Steve,
Bob, Frank and those who missed the sign-in sheet.
Our next official work day is Saturday October 9th - 10AM to 2PM.
We can work rain or shine. If it is a nice day we can continue the
brush and bush trimming around the Marconi hotel. If it is raining or
you like to paint we can paint inside 9032. As the rooms are old army
tan and some have even older army green every brush stroke or pass with
a roller makes an improvement.
This Saturday 10AM to 1PM we will be working if anyone wants to join
in. Not an offical work day, but you are welcome to help. A Wall Boy
Scout (Eric) is working toward his eagle award by volunteering at Camp
Evans. He will be trimming the parking lot hedges. I expect to be
painting the exterior of 9032, Frank will be painting the interior and
Bob might stop by to do some electrical work at the Diana site.
Club and Association presidents please forward the invitation/notice
to members. Please bring tools (loopers for brush trimming or brushes
and rollers for painting).
We are making progress toward our goals!
Thanks,
Fred
