Hi Don,
300B is a good sized (40 watts dissipation) audio triode
that was used primarily in Western Electric amps for movie
theaters. Sound motion pictures were the beginning of HiFi,
and the mystique lives on among audio people. I'd be
surprised if they were ever used in a production radio
receiver, but WE did build transmitters.
