[NJARC] Western Electric 215A "Peanut" Tube

Joe,

According to Tyne's "Saga of the Vacuum Tube", the 215A, 
originally known as Type N was developed for the U.S. Army. 
  The intent was to consume the lowest possible filament 
power for use in battery-powered "trench sets."  These were 
introduced late in 1919.  So, these were portable radio 
tubes from the git-go.
