Steve,
         Congradulations on picking  up a real "Homebrew" rig and let me know 
how you make out with it. Once you have  a piece of handiwork built by the 
money, sweat, and ingenuity of someone else  you may never want to go back to a 
manufactured rig again. 
 
There a special satisfaction one gets when bringing something back to life  
that has laid dormant for many years, be it a transmitter or a receiver.
