KRE PROGRESS REPORT: We are pleased to announce that CHRS has received
a grant in the amount of $3865 from The Yasme Foundation. This grant is to
reimburse CHRS for the costs of professionally moving The Maxwell Library
from the Santa Cruz Mountains to KRE. We are grateful to The Yasme
Foundation for their interest in our project and their continuing support.
Our 3rd Saturday Work Day at KRE was November 20th. I wish I could say
we had a large turnout. Our volunteers were John Staples, Larry Drees, Will
Rayment, Butch McDonald & Maria Palting, non member & friend of CHRS Robert
Forestner of 'Robert's Quality Painting' (415-675-0464), and myself, Steve
Kushman. Although the group was small, we accomplished a great deal. We
removed the screen and cleaned and painted the last window on the ground
floor. We got out the big ladders and cleaned off the left over bits of
graffiti from the second floor windows and painted most of the window
frames. We touched up the black trim on the lower sections. We buried an
exposed ground wire. We took a few loads of left over stuff to Urban Ore
and now have an empty room. And we swept and cleaned our upstairs meeting
room. The hard work of tireless volunteers is paying off as seen by the the
sunlight that streams through the first floor windows and the snappy look
of the trimmed front. Remember the only way we will succeed in our vision
of creating this place devoted to RADIO, is by your continuing support.
CHRS needs your dollars and your time. Please donate both to CHRS. It will
make you feel great. Watch for your 2005 renewal in the snail mail & be
sure to donate heavily.
