Hi Ray,
The real solution is an outside antenna, possibly with a
shielded lead-in. A small loop antenna indores may also be
an alternative.
The wires, pipes, and heating ducts in a modern house form a
Faraday shield that limits the amount of signal that gets
in, and unfortunately, both the noise sources and your radio
are inside. It may be time for me to redo my antennas
presentation fom many years ago. In the mean time, I can
send you the old one if you can tolerate a 1 megabyte .pdf
attachment. Let me know.
