At the March 12th meeting of the NJARC the subject of term limits for the c=
lub=E2=80=99s officers was raised. The obvious reason for this was to keep=
the club from getting stagnant and allowing for =E2=80=98new blood=E2=80=
=99 and =E2=80=98new ideas=E2=80=99. While this is a sound idea, the fact =
that the present officers serve without pay or expense accounts, giving the=
ir time and enthusiasm for the benefit of the club, I question whether this=
is necessary. Indeed, a show of hands at the meeting was solidly supporti=
ve of the present process. It seems to me, a relatively new member, that t=
he present operation of the club is very good and everyone I know has no co=
mplaints. We all enjoy ourselves and the club=E2=80=99s activities with a =
minimum of =E2=80=98parliamentary procedure=E2=80=99 to get in the way. To=
my knowledge, the preset bylaws allow for anyone to come forward and prese=
nt his/her credentials and intentions to run for any position. The format =
for this is the =E2=80=98Broadcaster=E2=80=99 and now is the time for anyon=
e to state their case. There isn=E2=80=99t any need for term limits in my =
opinion. Perhaps a more formal ballot on the question could be included in=
 the general election. Nick Senker
