John Kinch, 908-526-0052, saw some publicity for the David Sarnoff Library's
Hands-on Radio History Day on Jan. 17 and called to ask if anyone wanted to buy
about 100 transcription discs that he's had since the early 1950s. These come
from his high school teacher and were recorded mostly off WCTC and a station in
Zarephath. He wasn't very specific about content; some of them contain a
narrated history of New Jersey and others have unnamed singers and performers.
He was hoping to get maybe $10-15 each for them. I pointed out that value
depended on content and access to a suitable record player, as some apparently
are of the 16" diameter. He concluded by noting that he's 68 and ought to find
someone who could use them.
If you or someone you know might be interested, please call Mr. Kinch.
Best,
Alex Magoun
