There are many mini-voice recorders on the market in this price range; see jr.com or sonystyles.com. I have an old telephone answering machine that might work. How long a message do you propose? 1 mb is a lot of memory for an audio message. Nick Senker

Hi,
For a donations box project in the David Sarnoff Library, we need a board that can
record and playback (about 1MB) audio, with a line-level input. It should run on about
12VDC and also have either line-level output or a 2W amplifier built in. Price should
be no more than $40.
    Suggestions?

Fyi, the "box" is shaped like a vacuum tube using a 24" x 15" lucite dome and we
would like to have it perform on sensing the input of coins and cash: NBC chimes, fiber
optic pulse, etc. A future ability to accept Paypal by wireless would be cool too.
    thanks,
Alex
