HI Steve,
You know how I tease you every time about the service literature at the
hamfest. Well today I'm not kidding. I got 3/4 of a 10-ream box full of
service stuff. 6 or so Service magazines, several each Fada, Majastic,
Grisby? service pubs, and some others. The real interesting one was the
Gersback Service books - complete Vol 1, Vol2, and the following
supplements: 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, still in the envelops. I'll bet this will
fill a few holes for you?
You're welcome to the FADA and stuff if you don't have them - and you can
copy the Gernsbacks (I think I'll keep them.)
I got the whole box for $30. I got it early.
The hamfest was quite small, but very sociable. Things were affordable.
Oh, I got the big Red tube book for $15. I'm going to sell that and make
my $30 back for the literature. :-)
I picked up a Conar (cheap kit) receiver for cheap, and a Johnson Mobile
transmitter (rough) very cheap. I passed up a bunch of other stuff. I
think I got the only service literature there, except for the RCA manuals
John Ruccola picked up.
About 10 NJARC'ers showed up. John Ruccolo made about 4 trips to his car
with his king-sized shopping cart - that he took away from some poor senior
citizen shopper at the local ACME. :-)
John
