Hello, I have a 129X and love it, its been passed down
in my family. It works pretty well (I'm no expert)
but has a burned resistor underneath which I believe
is causing one band to not work at all. I also know
it has some voltage on the chassis and has all
original paper caps. I think all tubes are good, I've
replaced them and/or tested them.
I am interested in finding someone in the new york
city (or 1-2 hour radius) area who would be willing to
do a complete overhaul on my radio. I am looking for
recapping, alignment, fixing anything thats broken
(that I dont know about), putting a 3 prong power plug
on to properly protect the chassis.
If you are interested in taking on a project, please
contact me off-list. I would pay cash and could throw
in a non-functioning BC-342 receiver I have (plus any
other small stuff I might have)
Thanks
Eugene
