Info Age has many friends and they have sprung into action.
Recently there was a meeting between Monmouth BRAC, Washington BRAC,
the National Historic Preservation Trust and Wall Township. Also
Congressman Smith has stepped in again.
BRAC Washington will send a team to inspect the decay of the properties
and assess what the Army can do.
The Township was adamant that they will not take possession of the
buildings until they are usable and will not permit the auctioning of
the property.
The involvement of the National Preservation Trust lawyers, who are well
versed in preservation issues, was a setback to BRAC intentions.
The Info Age board meets Tuesday evening where we will plan additional
steps of how we can interface more smoothly with local media and support
Congressman Smith's office.
We need to continue and intensify our restoration work at the cottages
to show our dedication for the use of this site.
The situation is not as critical as it was a week ago but we need to
maintain our vigilance. Our participation at the next RAB meeting on
the 27th may still be an issue so be prepared. More info will be
available at this Friday's meeting.
