Good morning. I met with a gentleman in Glen Mills, PA a couple of weeks
ago who contacted me through the DVHRC website to appraise a small
collection of radios. We had a pleasant visit and for my troubles, donated
a number of transistor and bakelite table radios plus a group of boxed
Airline 01A's which will be included in the auction at Kutztown on 9/13.

He also had three interesting consoles that he wanted to dispose of.
Explaining to him that to collectors, floor models are a lot like
elephants (you can't hide 'em and you can't stack 'em), but due to their
truly outstanding condition, I advised him that I'd check around to see if
I could track down a buyer. The first person I thought of who dabbles in
radios at an antiques mall in nearby Chadds Ford wasn't interested. So the
ball is in your court.

First, there's a truly outstanding pre-war Philco console (model unknown)
that's as close to mint as I've ever seen. All the celluloid parts (knobs,
excutcheon and pushbuttons) are like new and the finish is not to be
believed. Second is a monolithic RCA console (model 29K ?), high tube count
w/pb's that's also in fine original condition. Third is a Radiola 80,
repwood front, dual chassis, push-pull 45's in good shape. He also has a
(Precision?) tube tester in a slightly traveled wooden case, but the
insides sparkle. All this gear is untested, electronic condition unknown,
but appear to be complete and unmolested.

Be advised that the seller is aware that these are not your common flea
market junkers that you're going to haul away for a nickel a pound. But at
the same time, he knows that consoles can be a burden. If there's anyone
out there who'd be willing to take a look and make an honest and reasonable
offer, drop me an "e" and I'll provide his name, addresss and phone number.

The big Kutztown/Lawrenceville Antique Radio Weekend begins in nine days.
See you there!
