[NJARC] 2 newbie questions

Hello All,

Although I've been a ham radio operator since 1988 I'm new to restoring old tube radios.

I have about 3 radios that I'm looking to restore this coming winter when yard chores and such aren't so abundant :-)

Any way, I have to questions.

1 - Is there a price guide for vintage radios. I'm just curious of the value of the radios. I don't have immediate access to them since they are currently being stored at my parents house. However I would like to know a source for determining the value of old radios.

2 - Although I have the usual electronics work bench test equipment I do not have a Variac. So I'm trying to do some research as to which type is best. A fellow ham mentioned to me that his has an amp meter but most I've seen on eBay do not while only some even have a volt meter. Any way any advise on which brand and model of Variac I should consider procuring would be appreciated.

Thanks and 73 (Best Regards) Tom NJ2DX
