thanks for the info..i am quite handy with electronics and in fact i have 
done some repairs...
regarding: 
Collectors commonly replace the field winding with an inductor and resistor 
and connect a modern speaker.  This requires a bit of shade-tree 
engineering to get it right.

do you have any idea what values of inductor and resistor that i would need? 
and also a schematic of how and where (which of the 4 wires) to hook it up...

as far as the electrolytics and paper caps ,,if i could find the values i 
could fix those  ...but does every cap need to be replaced?

I appreciate your help and I would welcome the help of the club with this 
project...
btw I have a lot of old vacuum tubes and phonograph needles so if you or 
anyone needs any let me know
