Hi Joe,
I agree with Jim - time to check the tubes - and - keep the capacitors
within the range he specified.
If you don't have a tube tester with a "shorts" check, then get out an ohm
meter and check between the cathode pin and each filament pin. There
should be no indication on the meter.
To verify the meter, measure between the two filament pins, and set the
meter Ohms switch so it reads about 10-25% of full scale. This will help
you find a high resistance short. Most shorts are very low ohm, however,
and should be noticed easily.
