Hi all,
I'm not new to tube audio (I'm a DIY tube audio fan),
but I just received the gift of my first antique tube
radio. It's a Zenith Model 61, which I've found from
my search on the web, uses the M60 chassis and the
ZE-50 power supply. The chassis seems to be in pretty
good shape, and the cabinet is serviceable, but the
speaker is missing.
Can someone point me to a source for the schematics
for this radio? I found a source on eBay for a batch
of Zenith schematics - should I buy them for 12 bucks,
or can I find the ones I need elsewhere? Also, I
don't know much about field coil speakers - where can
I find out what the original speaker was? If the
original is not findable, I know that a choke is
usually put into the power supply to replace the coil,
but I don't know how to determine the value of the
choke, or what speaker is customarily used.
As you can see, I don't know much! Any help you can
offer would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Pete Boser
