Hi,

Yes, I made it home OK. It was a good thing that cut in the rear tire
sidewall didn't turn into anything nasty because the high voltage power
supply was in front of the spare tire. =

I couldn't round up any help when I got home but I disassembled some of t=
he
racks that we had loaded intact so I got everything off by myself except
for the rack and the high voltage supply. My buddy Mike came over later
and helped me with those. We were just about to close the grage door whe=
n
Pam got home. She knew I was picking up some radio stuff, but there's no=

point in pushing my luck. =

I've been doing some triage and attempting to identify the various units =
of
the transmitter. It appears that the exciter is missing, as well as the
antenna tuner. Now I wish I had grabbed that big bread slicer. =

Mr. Gold had replaced quite a number of the 866s with little diode units =
in
IF cans that plugged into the sockets. Pretty slick. not a bad approach=

if the rectifiers are in places where you can't see them glow. Otherwise=
,
I'll take the glow.

Gorason, I probably have some tools and test equipment that you could us=
e.
A lot of it I got when we cleaned out my grandfather's house and I just
couldn't bear to see it go in the dumpster. Give me a blast sometime if
you would like to see my collection.

John, if you get the time it would be nice if we could look over the unit=
s
with schematics in hand. It would also be a nice opportunity to show you=

my stuff, and my grandfather's.

See you folks at the Nov. meeting.

Rob
