In putting on radio presentations and/or just talking about old radios
to friends and acquaintances, I am often asked, "where can I get an old
radio repaired". I caution people not to just plug in an old radio to
try it lest there be permanent damage or fire or injury but where are
these people to go for such services? I occasionally do a repair for a
friend but try to avoid it if possible (it cuts into my own restoration
time). Many of these requests come from elders or others who are not
candidates for our repair seminars. ARC lists some services but they
are in CT or further away. It seems to me that if there are club
members willing to take on outside repairs we should have a listing of
them. Even a listing of non-members who will do repairs if they are
reasonably local. I would like to hear from anyone who would like to be
so referenced and we could add it to newsletter as well.
