Subject: [NJARC] Griffith/Miessner radio?

Folks,

Quite by accident (or is that serendipity?)I located
a 'Griffith' branded grandfather clock with a built in
'Miessner' radio. The radio is a 6-tube (?) AM with no
apparent model number (just a serial number). I was
told it is from the 1920s (looks like the 1930s to my
untrained eye). All visible tubes are ST type - two
have grid caps. Three are in a metal cage so I can't
see much of them. The visible tubes do not appear to
have markings - just some crumbling paper labels and a
virgin layer of decades old dust. These folks are
interested in parting with it.

  Is anyone familiar with this
manufacturer/item/style? I would appreciate any help
in identifying and determining a value for this unit.
TIA.

  Rich Skoba
