Check out today's NY Times, Circuits Section for a big spread on Vacuum Tube Audio. Shown is a "V-12 Amplifier" costing $4,000. Also shown is a 211 tube, aka; VT-4 that is used in some amplifiers. My God, that dates back to the 20's or 30's. The article states that aficionados claim that vacuum tube amplifiers produce a "warmer" sound but no one is sure why. Is this a crazy world or what? Ray
