Good Morning Everyone -
I recently purchased a commercial radio tuned to amateur frequencies for use
in my Jeep Cherokee. It is a G.E. Model MVS that runs 40w output and is
programmable to 16 different frequencies. Mine is the UHF model although
they are made for VHF also and both models tune very nicely through the
entire amateur band.
A couple of you have commented how they would like to have one of these as
well since there are very few of these around Nevada. I have made a deal
with the fellow who I bought mine from who is in the commercial radio
business for more of these and I would like to make it available to all of
you.
He presently has an excess of these on hand both in the VHF and UHF versions
and if we can order 8 in any combination, he will program each one to your
frequencies of choice and tune them to optimum performance. The cost is
$75.00 each and includes programming, tune-up and UPS shipping to your door.
Each radio comes with a microphone and new power cord.
The G.E. MVS is a very rugged radio with a die cast chassis and built solid
as a rock. They were intended for use in harsh usage and industrial
environments where they would be jarred and bumped around such as use in
heavy equipment. The front ends are very "tight" and virtually impervious
to strong adjacent channel interference.
So, if you are interested in a commercial quality radio that will give you
many years of excellent, reliable performance, please reply to my message
and let me know. I would like to buy one of the VHF models for myself but,
we need to have all of these ordered at the same time. This offer will only
be good until the end of the month and the radios will go to the next
hamfest for sale there.
I have a few photos if you are interested that I can send along this evening
by request.
