S. NV DEC ARES Report, Glenn KB7REO
Over the past several days, Las Vegas Regional SKYWARN
(LVRS) has been activated. The Las Vegas Regional
SKYWARN (LVRS) has obtained a new club callsign
WX7LAS.
The Monsoon has brought to our area some intense
T-storms and some very heavy rains. Local operations
at the NWS office have been going very well. We were
also asked to obtain any weather reports from amateur
radio spotters in outlying areas such as San
Bernardino Co., CA or Mohave Co., AZ. Over the past
week we've made additional contacts to help improve
coordination with Mohave Co. ARES, So. Nye County,
ARES and San Bernardino County, ECS/RACES. Much thanks
to John K6YDW, Clark County SKYWARN Coordinator, for
all his help with the SKYWARN packet station and
assistance with SKYWARN operations. The station's
packet BBS is WX7LAS-1.
Northern NV DEC, Paul NN7B has been working on
updating the Nevada Section Emergency Plan. The plan
once updated will be available on the NV Section web
site http://www.cvrc.net/ares
We need more Official Emergency Station (OES)
appointees in the Southern NV District.
Please review the ARRL web site for details:
