Good Afternoon -

The clock is running and there are just 34 days until
EMCOMMWEST-2003!

If you are considering attending, please register for
this ARRL Special Operating Convention at:
http://www.cvrc.net/emcommwest/ click on the menu
item in the left column for "Registration Form", fill it out
and click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page. Your
registration will be automatically entered for the event.

Then, mail your registration payment of $10.00 to the
address posted at the bottom of the registration form
and you're all done!

Lastly, plan on attending this exclusive event on May 31st.
A full day of presentations by guest speakers in all facets
of emergency response will be made. The afternoon
includes a discussion forum by our ARRL guest speaker
Dan Miller, K3UFG and an assortment of classroom
session on various EmComm subjects by experts in the
field.

There is a field testing session planned for all three levels
of the ARECC EmComm courses. Testing for each level
is $10.00. You must provide a certificate for the previous
level if you are taking levels II or III. Also, if you intend to
take any of the ARECC exams during the event, please let
us know in advance so we can know how many to plan for.

If you are interested in upgrading your amateur license,
there will be VE testing for that purpose in the afternoon.
All regular fees and requirements apply.

Bring your HT or mobile rig and have it checked out by our
professional radio technician for free! Purchase a supply
of Anderson Power Pole DC connectors for your radios!
Purchase books on all subjects of amateur radio from our
ARRL publication vendor who will be on site during the
event.

If you have a well equipped car, truck, SUV, trailer, camper
or vehicle of any kind that is used for emergency commu-
nications, consider bringing it along and entering the fun
EmComm vehicle competition. A trophy will be given to the
winner in each of two classes. Contact Dave Thorne, K6SOJ,
at: [email protected] if you are interested or have questions.
An entry form is available on the main web page as well.

Lunch will be served by the Nevada VOAD mobile kitchen
crew at the event for a donation of $5.00, payable at the
door when you check in.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to participate in this great
event held in Nevada for the first time. Planning for the 2004
event is already underway and will be a two-day event with a
ham swapmeet and vendors as well as a full curriculum of
presentations and classes relating to EmComm. So, plan on
attending next year as well.
