Special Weather Statement - Special weather statement has
been issued for Greater reno-carson city-minden area NV valid
from Fri Nov 22 2002 05:15 PM PST until Sat Nov 23 2002 
04:30 AM PST .

Much colder weather expected for Western Nevada and Eastern 
California next week... The upper level Ridge that has produced 
dry and mild weather over Eastern California and Western Nevada
this week will break down over the weekend...

While a Canadian air mass moves over the region early next week. 
The first cold front is expected to arrive by Sunday afternoon and 
evening with cooler temperatures and scattered rain or snow 
showers. By Sunday evening snow Levels are expected to fall to 
the valley floors...

But this system will have limited moisture so only light snow 
accumulations are expected. Isolated snow showers are expected
on Monday with temperatures mainly in the 40s in the valleys and 
from the mid 30s to lower 40s in higher elevations. A stronger 
surge of cold air is expected to push through Western Nevada and 
Northeast California Monday evening with stronger winds and another
possibility of snow showers. Wind chills on Monday night could be 
in the Zero to 20 degree Range over most of the region. Continued 
unseasonably cool temperatures and brisk winds are likely to 
continue on Tuesday.
