Just when you think it will never end.... Please note this may just be
another "slack" period before things get worse.... For anyone who
was preparing to volunteer, don't unpack yet. You may still be needed.

Well, the tables sure can turn when you least expect it. The last thing I
expected today was to hear the order to stand down on 3/4 of the locations.

The following locations have been shut down due to requirements going away:

Teller County Sheriff's Office
Lake George ICP
West Creek Fire Station

The following locations are still active:

Woodland Park High School Red Cross Shelter

The following are new requirements:

Salvation Army (three canteens)
Salvation Army HQ, COS

I'm still coordinating the WP shelter; Mike K0TER is coordinating the
Salvation Army requirements. We'll continue the resource nets for a while
longer until resources are no longer needed.

I'm glad the requirements have diminished. As you could tell from my
"soapbox" e-mail, we were pretty close to pushing the limits of the folks
that had responded up to this time. But I'm also glad I did send the
e-mail, because I think it awakened us to the fact that this summer is going
to be a very long, dry summer. What's burning now is still growing in size.
We still may be called upon if things get worse again. But for now, our
presence is not necessary because some of the sheriff's offices have
terminated their support, and some phones are being restored.

I got a tremendous response from I don't know how many of you, offering time
out into the end of July and into August! I will hang on to that info and
save it for another emergency. Hopefully I won't need it, but just in case.

All I can say for now is "thanks" to everyone that has volunteered, offered
to volunteer, offered to stand by, to everyone that checked in to all of the
resource nets, and to everyone that came through after my e-mail with offers
of support for the summer.

Thanks again, and stay tuned for future developments.
