          APRS Balloon Tracking Wanted - Raleigh Area - Feb 27

==== Please reply to: Robert Krasowski <rkrasowski at yahoo.com> ====

Can you help with some APRS tracking, especially mobile? Here's the
request I received from Robert Krasowski KB2PNM:

=============
I am planning to launch balloon that hopefully will go up to 100,000 ft.
Everything is completed, tested and I just waiting for time to launch (27
Th of February).

I am in Asheboro. I plan to launch balloon from a location west from my
QTH. That will put landing zone close to Raleigh. Distance that my balloon
will travel as per latest jet stream speed and position give traveling
distance of balloon close to 200 miles with flight time 3h. In order for me
to catch up with the balloon I will have to drive fast...

I am looking for somebody who can receive APRS from the car (preferably)
close to Raleigh. Balloon has GPS on board and APRS transmitter, however,
transmitting frequency will be 144.430MHz rather than 144.390MHz. The
reason for that is that I do not want to block entire APRS network
transmitting position of the balloon every 30 sec.

Check my Internet site

Thanks in advance
