This is an email I sent out to a list of people that have worked this event
or have expressed interest, I'm passing it along for those that weren't
on the list.

Hi Crew,

You're getting this because you've either helped in the past or have
recently shown an interest in volunteering.

The Colorado Marathon is coming up May 1st with a start time of 0630 and
an on duty time for upper canyon people by 0600. The full marathon starts
at Stevens Gulch West of Mishawaka and the 1/2 starts a few miles West of
Ted's Place. I need people for NCS, Sag's, aid stations, EMS shadows,
finish line liaison between NCS and EMS and bicycle mobiles on The Poudre
River Trail between LaPorte and Old Town Ft. Collins.
For the new people, I hope to be able to pair you with an experienced Ham
to show you the ropes and get you some valuable experience! This is a fun
event, but I do take the job seriously as we strive to keep runners,
spectators and everyone safe.
When signing up please advise your experience level, what equipment you
have and if you're CPR/AED certified as I have AED's to provide those with
training to have out on the course. (if you need training, let me know, I
can arrange that as well).
This year we will have Polo shirts for all volunteers so I will need your
shirt size when you sign up. Also The Colorado Marathon and The Equinox
Marathon have partnered up for a nice jacket for people that volunteer for
BOTH races, The Equinox runs September 18th so keep that on your calendar,
and no I don't expect you to sign up for The Equinox now, just something to
consider. These jackets will have your name and call sign embroidered on
the front and the race logos printed on the back, they are very very
nice!! I am also putting people's names that volunteer for both races in a
hat for a drawing for a Yaesu FT -4X HT !!
I also am seeing if there is any interest for a pizza lunch after the
event, we could meet at Lee Martinez Park where aid 12 is located.

Race info is here www.comarathon.com, and I have attached a course map.

Thanks,

Marty KC0QOK
