Hello Hams,

2 operators had to drop out of the event for this Saturday.

Volunteers are needed.
Especially invited are new hams itching to jump in and use their new
radios.

I coordinate the Ham radio operators for the annual CAST for Kids Event
at Horsetooth Reservoir.
CAST is a nationwide program to help disabled and disadvantaged kids
have a day of fishing with experts.

Last June's event was canceled because of COVID.
This year the event is scheduled for June 5th.
A number of our regular operators have either left town or decided not
to help out.
Therefore, I'm looking for 3 to 4 hams to step up.
We use the 447.450- 123Hz repeater which sits right on top of the
reservoir; easy to hit with low power.

It's an easy event to work; we meet at the Pavilion at 6am to discuss
strategy.
From 7am to 9am is a mad rush to get the kids on the boats and in the
water.
Then 10am to 12noon is a mad rush to get the kids and boats out of the
water.
12:30 we have Nordy's barbecue and we're done. Plus we get a nice t-shirt.

It's an exhilarating day at the lake.
You need an HT with 70cm capability, backup battery, a good earpiece,
speaker mic or headset.
