Just an update here. I passed my tech exam on Saturday - checking the ULS daily but no callsign yet. I'll keep listening in in the mean while - tuning 447.275 daily, and I was able to tune SO-50 for about 10 minutes on a pass this morning with just my uv-5x3 and nagoya triband!
