Edge of Space Sciences (EOSS), a Colorado 501(c)(3) non-profit, would like
to enlist and welcome new members from our Amateur Radio community. Our
mission and charter to "promote science and education by exploring
frontiers in amateur radio and high altitude balloons" has recently been
expanded. While we continue to support multiple universities and colleges
in their scientific research, we are now supporting innovative and
aggressive high school STEM programs. To continue this support, we welcome
new members to help fill the needs for these programs and enjoy the
personal satisfaction that comes with such support.
EOSS will be conducting a welcome and training session for new and current
members on October 17, from 8:00-12:00 at the Country Buffet, 301 Englewood
Parkway, Englewood CO 80110. This training session has two major
objectives:
1. To train new and current members in some of
the processes, procedures and technology used by EOSS members to
successfully launch, track and recover balloon payloads.
2. To welcome and encourage new members who will
help wish to help with upcoming missions. Mentors will be assigned to new
