My portable emergency 70cm repeater testing is going well. This setup uses a Motorola M120 for Rx on 444.075 and a GM300 for Tx on 449.075. The duplexer came tuned from Hong Kong via eBay for $100 and works great. It has an ID-O-Matic IV from hamgadgets.com for ID and fan control. Today I assembled the weatherproof cabinet. This unit will be battery/solar powered.
WE plan to use this for the upcoming Never Summer 100k foot race over Cameron Pass in July. We'll need a lot of radio volunteers for this 24 hour race. You'll need to be willing to camp and be self sufficient for over 24 hours. Due to the location and terrain in the race area, this repeater will be our only comms.
A repeater coverage map for this repeater, placed on Gould Mountain, can be seen here: http://www.noco-hsmm.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/NS100kRepeater.png
