I had a nice visit with Eugene,
KI6MPA today and he suggested I send a note to the reflector. This post is ham related in
that it concerns my son, Nick, KC5SWM.
My son graduated from Georgia Tech on
May 5, with an EE degree and will be starting work at AMD in Ft. Collins on
Monday, May 21. My wife Renee, KC5VMA
and I are here in Ft. Collins with him looking for an apartment. Apartments are pretty pricey by Texas (our
home) standards, so my son would like to consider renting a room from an
established family within biking distance (~3 miles) from AMD for around $500/month. The duration is open. It could be for a few months to give him time
to get to know other people at work and in the area who he might like to room
with, or longer.
Here is some information about
Nick. He’s 23 years old, graduated with
high honors, is very responsible, enjoys hiking, camping, and biking. He is an elite ultimate (Frisbee) player. His Georgia Tech team qualified for the
college national tournament in Boulder on Memorial Day weekend. He is a finalist for college player of the
year. Here is a link to his bio on his
men’s open division team which won the national championships in 2009. http://www.nexgentour.com/players/nick-lance. He doesn’t drink, smoke, or party. He has a small dog, that doesn’t bark and is
afraid of her shadow. All his
possessions fit within his and our Toyota Highlanders that we drove up here.
We would like to decide where he is
going to live by Thursday, so he can have an address with which to register his
car, obtain car insurance, etc. He will
have to do this on Friday, since he begins work on Monday. If you know anyone who might like renting a
room to him, please email or call me. We
can meet with any prospective family anytime as we are staying at the LaQuinta at
the intersection of Interstate 25 and Mulberry.
My son and I are planning to go to
the lunch at Perkins tomorrow (Wednesday) and the club breakfast at the Golden
Corral on Saturday.
Thanks
Nick Lance, KC5KBO
