Hi Guys and Gals,

We have been re-activated. Our mission is two fold, to support Larimer
County Emergency manager, by providing secondary communications path
between the EOC/Phone Bank, ICP and the Red Cross (currently only at the
Ranch).

Secondarily to support the ICP operations in what ever capacity they may
deem appropriate for us. Includes but not limited to: LCSO, CSP, other law
enforcement or fire ops as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
If you are going in on an assignment that may take you into the fire area,
you REQUIRED to have boots. NO tennis shoes, loafers or other non
substantial boot will be allowed. You will have to undergo deployment of
fire shelter training. We will need contact information for any family
member should anything happen on the event. We do not anticipate any issues
with safety, as we and the ICP are in lock step on that topic, this is only
a "just in case" precaution. The safety gear, will be issued by the
incident except for your boots.

As an aside.... This gear is on LOAN... My name is on the ticket for it, so
it needs to be checked back in at least to me at the end of the shift @ ICP.

ALL Amateurs who are potentially available for deployment, please take
stock of your availability days and times. Please let the folks in resource
management know about those via the air or phone or email. The more
information you provide, the less secondary inquiry calls have to be made
to you. Please provide your name, call, phone access numbers, cells if you
have them, emergency contact numbers and names. Please make sure we know if
you have deployable assets such as radios that can plug into alternate
power, your own batteries for mobiles, and mag mounts, should we need you
to be deployed with another agency in their vehicle.

Rumors.... PLEASE only transmit on the radio things you have been asked by
involved stations or agencies. Last week we had a situation where there was
a possible change in the status of ramping up for a shelter operation.
Someone from another shelter heard traffic on our air and things went
downhill from there. There were many calls made and angst levels went thru
the roof... I've now receives a significant butt chewing for that traffic,
and I didn't even hear it. Please be sure of what you transmit in or out of
the event over amateur frequencies. There are a lot of the press, agencies
and private citizens trying to glean what ever they can from any source.
Mis information or rumors or confidential information are things that are
not helpful. PLEASE help us minimize that, particularly from our group.

appreciated by every agency we serve in this and by the citizens of Larimer
County.
