Subject: Timely Response Appreciated

Mr. Henry,

My name is Angee Baune. My husband and I are ARRL members/instructors.
We belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and are
currently serving in Regional (which covers all of the Denver area and
several states) and Stake (covers most of the Adams County area dipping
into weld county a bit) levels as emergency communications specialists.
As part of that assignment, we teach licensing classes, hold face-to
-faces and help local families and Ward level(consists of several
neighborhoods) church groups create and implement emergency plans (on a
layman's level - those with only a five watt radio). Our stake has
grown from 3 hams three years ago to over 85 now and still growing.
There are other stakes all over the Denver area that we are assisting as
well and our numbers (in ham operators) have grown to over 350. Many
obtained their licenses to assist family and church in emergencies and
that is all. However we are trying to offer them opportunities in which
to meet folks from the general ham community and encourage them to get
involved with their local groups.

We are holding a Face-to-Face meeting on *January 23rd from 3-4pm at
the LDS Church located at 100 E Malley Drive in Northglenn* (Denver
Colorado North Stake Center directly across from Boondocks). We
normally have about 30-50 in attendance, but expect many more as we have
invited members from all over the Denver area (Lakewood, Arvada,
Boulder, Castle Rock, Parker, Littleton, Louisville, Greeley, Longmont,
Fort Collins, Westminster, Thornton, Northglenn just to name a few).
We are inviting clubs and organizations from around the area to come and
spend 5 minutes explaining what their group does and then we will have
tables for the groups to display their information. We see this as a
mutually benefiting opportunity for both our members and the groups who
attend. It will give our members an opportunity to find something that
interests them and an opportunity to reach out to their communities as
well as offering the groups/clubs and opportunity to gain new membership.

Would you be interested in coming and representing the Northern Colorado
Amateur Radio Club? If you are not available, do you know anyone who
might be interested in helping us out?
