Hello to the group,

This coming weekend in the evenings I am planning on having some scouts try
to get on the radio up in red feather lakes. It is a small campout and
about 10 scouts ages 11-15 and 4 adults will be attending the campout. I am
taking along the 706 mkiig, the tuner, battery and the very nicely tuned 80
meter dipole along for the weekend. (Thanks again Aaron for the help on
that!!)

I am going to test tonight from our camping spot to make sure that
everything is working and then from there Friday and Saturday evenings I
hope to get them on the air. We are going to start each night around the
3.810 SSB (or so depending on QRM/QRN) and move from there. I have one
scout in particular that showed an interest in radio and this is why we are
dragging the gear up the mountain. The rest should follow suit once they
see him on the radio.

The plan is to start from the lower portion of the general licensed
frequencies on 80 meter no later than 6 PM both nights. Then after that
we'll move around to 40, 20 and hopefully 10 & 6 meter after they warm up to
the mic.

Anyone available to help chat hop on the radio. And if any club members out
there have youth in scouting that are licensed or willing to talk on the
radio 3rd person to other scouts please try to get them on the air. I am
hoping to have coverage from the 447.275 repeater also where we are camped
but I won't know until we get there.

Thank you very much!
