Hi all,
Last week I paid my first visit to the Red Cross building in Southern Fort
Collins and discovered they have an amateur radio station that is not quite
ready for use.
As explained to me, some hams came to set up everything and bought some new
rigs, but didnt quite get everything installed and have since lost contact
with them. They already have a cabinet for the rigs, an existing HF rig and
accessories, coax hook-ups, antennas and such installed. It just needs some
time to hook up a few of the new VHF rigs and some maintenance on the
antennas.
After talking to the Northern Colorado director, Erin Mounsey, he expressed
interest in getting the station up and running as well as establishing a
relationship with one of the local amateur radio clubs to help support their
communications needs. Would the NCARC or a few members be willing to fill
these needs for the Red Cross?
A link to their website to learn more about the local chapter:
