Hi Folks--- I still need 4 hams to help out this Saturday with the Fort
Collins Cycling Festival. This is a pretty cool event-- especially getting
to see the professional bike racers go by at top speed. This event is from
6:30 until about 1:00 pm. A couple of the volunteer positions can be a
little bit later in the morning (maybe on site at around 7:30 to 8:00 am).
There are some fun compensations-- see below. Can you please let me know
soon? Call me at 970 420-5317 or reply directly to this email--

QST to all Northern Colorado Hams-

We've been asked to help again with the Fort Collins Cycling Festival
weekend event. We helped with this last year-- it was a lot of fun and a
good opportunity to provide our ham radio skills for a cool event.

For this event, in addition to being able to provide our skills and
expertise-- each ham radio volunteer will also get a cool T-shirt, 5 belgium
beers of their choice, and free food. What more could you want?!
Information is below.

We need to quickly sign up volunteers as unfortunately I'm getting a very
late start organizing the event. (I had a misunderstanding about the
weekend-- this event is less than 8 days away). If you can respond quickly
with your availability, I think it will be relatively easy to organize.
I'll work to get a repeater set up on the backside of the course like we had
last year.

I need to staff a net control operator postion and approximately 6 "rest
stop" stations each day along with 2-3 hams with vehicles-- we can work this
as shifts and keep it to 2-3 hours of volunteer time if we get sufficient
operators to volunteer. The event is both Saturday June 21st from 5:30 am
to 3:00 pm and Sunday June 22nd from 5:30 am to 1:00 pm. They've
significantly expanded this event from last year-- we will do what we can to
provide assistance. One issue is that this overlaps our NCARC meeting for a
few hours, but hopefully we can work around that.

Please either call me on my cell at 420-5317 or email me back directly at
steveh291 at comcast.net as soon as possible.
