Hi all-

This message is courtesy of Chris Kelly who is a local Scouter. Please see
if you can participate, these are a *LOT* of fun and a good way to recruit
future hams!

Subject: Boy Scout Ham Radio Opportunity

This year, 2007, is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scouts
by Lord Baden-Powell in England. It is also the 50th Anniversary of Jamboree
On The Air (JOTA) which is the international ham radio event for Scouts.

Steve Powell is an Adult Scout Training Coordinator in the Fort Collins
- Loveland
area and is looking for ham radio operators to set up and operate a ham
station
at the "Pow-Wow" a major training event on October 20, 2007 in Fort Collins.

Think of it as a small Field Day event: Take some wire antennas and set up a
table and try to contact other scout groups around the state, nation and
world.
It's a great chance to introduce other adults and youth to ham radio.

If you can help set up and run a station for JOTA, please contact Steve
Powell
collshow at frii.com to volunteer.

For more information about JOTA see the ARRL web pages at

http://www.arrl.org/FandES/ead/jota.html

I will be camping with my Boy Scout Troop in Colorado Springs that weekend,
and running a JOTA station there (or else I would be helping with this
event).
Thanks for any help you can provide!
73,
Chris Kelly, K0PF
