Antennas are regulated - in unincorporated Larimer County - by the
Larimer County Land Use Code. If the property is in a city or town, the
city or town would be the regulating entity. Those requirements may be
different.

And, of course if you live in a place with Covenants and an active
Homeowners Association, there may be additional restrictions and/or
regulation steps to go through.

Here is an extract from the Larimer County Land Use Code that basically
defines the requirements for amateur antenna & tower height:

8.19. MAXIMUM STRUCTURE HEIGHT The maximum height of
structures is listed in each zoning district in section 4.1 of this code
.
8.19.1. Exceptions. A. The maximum height limitations of this code do not
apply to church spires; belfries; cupo-las; chimneys and other similar
design or archi-tectural features or other appurtenances that are usually
installed above roof level.

B. The height limitations of this code do not apply to federally licensed
amateur radio trans-mission and receiving antennas which meet the
following criteria:

1. The height of the tower and antenna does not exceed the distance to
the nearest property line;

2. All guy wires, tiedowns and other support components of the antenna
are installed according to the manufacturer's specifica-tions and are
located on the same lot with the antenna; and

3. Foundation plans for the antenna are submitted with an original seal
and sig-nature of a Colorado Licensed Engineer who has documented
experience review-ing such installations.

C. The height of commercial mobile radio ser-vice
(CMRS) facilities is regulated by section 16 of this code.
