Not to be missed: We have a transmitter hunt (a.k.a fox hunt) expert coming
to our fest this coming Saturday. His name is Larry Benko, W0QE. This
last summer Larry participated in the U.S. Amateur Radio Directional Finding
National Championships in New Mexico. Larry will be conducting a
transmitter hunt / radio direction finding workshop at 9:00 am. A repeat
will be scheduled at 10:00 am if there is sufficient interest. A local "on
foot" hunt will be at 11:00 am. Please bring your HT with charged
batteries. If you have it, also bring an attenuator... but this isn't
essential.

In his workshop-Larry will cover the basics and then also describe some of
the fascinating aspects of rapid RF directional finding where hams actually
need as much orienteering experience as ham experience, and need to be in
great shape also (most of the direction finding is done while you
run.....believe it or not).

Subject: Help! need volunteers to work 1 hour shifts at fest for ticket
sales

Hi-

We are in urgent need for a few hams to help with ticket sales at the fest.
These times will be less hectic but we need coverage:

9:00 - 10:00 shift (need 2 people)
10:00 - 11:00 shift (need 2 people)
11:00 - 12:00 shift (need 2 people)

This is very easy to do. With 2 people one can be looking around at stuff
while the other does ticket sales. You can trade off back and forth.

We also need to have about 5 people who can stick around after the fest and
help gather up tables and chairs.
