Regarding the invertor, though not this particular one...

My motorhome has an AC electric only refridgerator. The original unit
used a 36 vac compressor (*!?) that ran either from a transformer or from
it's own 12 vdc to 36 vac invertor.

When that fridge died I put in a common small household unit of about the
same size but that ran on 115 vac. As such I needed a new invertor to run
the new unit from the 12 vdc.

Sometimes the BOSS would cycle the fridge off and back on rapidly which
ended up stalling the compressor and tripping the invertor. Running a
drill motor or compressor would also trip the invertors on occasion.

For this application (and others) I found that the $70, "Vector" brand,
700 watt unit from WalMart worked better for the simple reason that it
automatically resets if it faults for overload. I've found no other unit
that does not have to have the DC supply removed to reset it, although
I'm sure they must be out there.

For the refridgerator that feature has proven to be mandatory and I would
not buy any invertor that did not have an automatic reset.

I will state though that I wish it would operate down to below 9 vdc but
that would probably damage the batteries and really crank up the DC amperage.

And that's my two cents worth..
