QST QST QST...

Don't miss this!!

Rob Strieby, W0HDD and Rick Kyle, WB7THT will be presenting a practical
tutorial and demonstration of APRS (Automatic Position Reporting System).
This digital mode is now heavily used in ARES and is a fun way to keep track
of not only position of amateur mobile stations but also is used to find out
about local weather conditions, and send brief messages among other things.
Also, it is very inexpensive to get started in using this mode (you probably
have most of the equipment you need already), and there are some
fun-to-build < $85 kits available for position sending transmitters.

Mark your calendars:

*** FLASH *** If you have any type of APRS equipment-- please bring that
along to be part of the show and tell. Depending upon interest we will have
an APRS clinic afterwards. We especially need people to bring their APRS
trackers.

There are many links on this topic-- just do a search on APRS. A very good
