[NCARC] Interested in finding out about new antenna designs?

Hi folks-

Are you interested in a presentation on portable and lightweight antennas?

Something like this might be a fun and informative "show and tell" event
where we encourage everyone who can to come to the May 21 NCARC club meeting
and bring to show a portable, lightweight, or NVIS antenna setup. There
would be ample time (if you start now) to pick out an antenna project out of
QST or off the web to build and try out in advance (about 4 weeks).

Another reason this might be interesting is that perhaps for field day as a
club we could set up for field day demonstrations at City Park in Fort
Collins (assuming we can arrange this). It might be a good opportunity to
have fun at field day and also help others understand more about the
important role of ham radio in our community! We wouldn't have to do
serious contesting (e.g. staying up for 48 hours or anything) but maybe this
could be done as a campout for some and for others a "drop by for a few
hours" event. I bet we could get the local newspapers to come and cover the
event, also.

Of course... any other public location in N. Colorado would work fine... we
could potentially even have several of these going on-- perhaps one in
Windsor, another in Greeley, and one in Fort Collins. Maybe we could even
encourage some of our hams in other communities in N. Colorado to
participate also??

Please reply back soon to the list (ncarc at mailman.qth.net) or to me at
n7gn at arrl.net :

1) if you would like to bring and perhaps try making in advance an antenna
to show at our next NCARC club meeting
2) if you are interested in participating in some way for field day on June
25-26th of this year?

Thanks much and '73
