All -

In case you don't receive these from K0RM, ARRL Section Manager, see
the below note which was recently distributed by the ARRL Web site.

Whoever volunteers for this job will be able to have a real impact on how
our Antenna/Tower legislation goes in the Colorado Legislature beginning
 this next January.

We have the legislation ready to be put in "official" form by the legislative
staffers who do that work. Our committee began working on this 18
months ago. We have had it reviewed by others who have been through
the battles in other states, including the guy that "wrote the book" on
Antenna Zoning for the Radio Amateur. And, we have a sponsor willing
to introduce it and push it in the Colorado General Assembly.

Now it is time for the statewide amateur community to work together to
get it passed!

If you are interested in this important duty, get ahold of Jeff, K0RM, per
the below note.

If you want to see the contents of the legislation our committee has
drafted, you can find it at: http://www.cohampac.org

Before the bill is introduced, what we have drafted will be put into the
format used by the legislature, but the contents are on the above web
site.

Ron, W0OSK
Vice-Chair, CCARC Legislative Committee

Subject: Colorado Tower Legislation

In order to get the Colorado antenna/tower legislation we are proposing
passed by the Colorado Assembly next session we will need someone to
lead an effort to have Colorado hams contact their legislators from their
own home districts all over the state. The legislation will probably not be
approved without a significant push from local hams. If it appears that we
won't be able to get enough of a 'push' we would prefer not to introduce
our legislation until after we can get such an effort organized. We are
looking for someone to coordinate the local ham push state-wide. This
position may take a few hours a week plus a whole lot of phone calls and
email to get hams coordinated and contacting legislators with one voice.

Are you such a person? Contact me at [email protected] or call me at home
(719-260-6826 evenings/weekends) and volunteer. Every ham-- League
member or not-- will benefit from a Colorado tower/antenna law
preventing local counties and towns from restricting tower height and/or
placement beyond what the state law would specify. A member of the
Colorado Assembly is willing to introduce legislation favorable to Colorado
hams, but without a concerted statewide effort to ensure passage, it
would probably be a waste of time. Let me know if you can help.
