Deadlines for saving money by early registration and room booking are
almost here. Do it now and save $!
The Rocky Mountain Division convention, HAMCON 2003, which is being
held in Estes Park May 30 - June 1 is shaping up well. As you know,
LRA and NCARC are sponsoring clubs.
If you haven't registered, or booked a room at the hotel, deadlines for
saving money on both are fast approaching.
- Registration is a reduced rate until May 15.
- Prior to May 9, hotel room rates are greatly reduced for convention
attendees. Singles are $69, doubles are $79 - far below the usual hotel
rate, which is what will be charged after May 8.
Since NCARC & LRA are sponsoring clubs, it potentially benefits the
clubs to have the rooms all sold out. If that occurs, the costs for use of
the convention facilities drop drastically, potentially improving the amount
of "profit" we will share in.
The Hamcon committee met at the hotel on 4/19, and the programs for
technical forums and other events are shaping up to be really great.
So, if you've been planning to attend, but just haven't registered - or
booked rooms - yet, I would encourage you to do so soon. Rooms are
going fast, and you can save yourself some $ by acting soon.
You can find all the details on the convention website,
www.hamconcolorado.org where you can check out all the great events
that are going to occur and register by Paypals if you choose to.
Below is a PR note recently sent from the ARRL with some information
you might find interesting.
