Greetings. I am assisting some NASA astronauts who are arranging a very
special memorial event. As you probably know, last February 1 the space
shuttle orbiter Columbia burned up on re-entry. In August, many family
members of the lost astronauts will climb the newly-named Columbia
Point, Colorado, for a memorial service.
We need help from people with 4WD vehicles who can shuttle people and/or
cargo about six miles up a very rough 4WD road in south-central
Colorado, including some weekdays, over a three-day period (two nights
in high camp). Volunteers offering transportation may also camp and
hike with us if they desire.
For obvious reasons the leaders of this outing want media privacy.
Please respect this, and be discreet with this information. Note that I
have not told you the dates yet, but I will tell you if you are
seriously interested in participating. Thanks!
